Titan Racing Bikes become official bike partner of Prudential PE Plett

Titan Racing Bikes have partnered with the Prudential PE Plett premier mountain bike stage race as the official bike partner for the 8th edition of the event.

Following Titan Racing’s recent launch of the Cypher and Cypher RS, Titan Racing will be providing a backup fleet of carbon Cyphers at the event for any riders who experience technical issues and cannot continue on their own bike.

The Prudential PE Plett takes place from the 6th to 9th of February, 2020. Starting in Plettenberg Bay, day 1 sets off from the prestigious Kurland Polo Fields, and four days later the event finishes with a mammoth downhill flow trail which runs into Crossways Farm Village in Port Elizabeth. Riders are spoilt with the choice of two different routes; the Tough One and the Lite. The routes consist of 326 km and 267 km respectively, running through 56 private farms, multiple forestry and conservancy areas and concessions that are normally completely inaccessible to the public. Route highlights include traversing the Tsitsikamma Mountains, following ancient elephant migration routes, and enjoying some spectacular coastal scenery on a portion of the Otter Trail.

Having Titan Racing on board as the official bike partner adds another level of value to an already prestigious event. With a stacked race village that offers complementary wine and beer, and luxury tent options, Titan Racing will also have spot prizes up for grabs each day from their apparel and accessory ranges. The highlight of course is the back-up bike support offered to all riders throughout the event which ensures all entrants the ability to finish the event in the unfortunate case of a major technical issue.

The Cypher is Titan Racing’s new XC/Marathon bike which was launched this year and has been raced by the Valley Electrical Titan Racing Team in its’ Prototype phase since the team’s inception.

The Valley Electrical Titan Racing young gun duo of Rossouw Bekker and Marc Fourie will be present at the event, fighting it out for the podium each day. Going into their second year of racing together since the launch of the Valley Electrical Titan Racing Team in January 2019, the duo has proved to be force to be reckoned with.

As a boutique race, entries are limited exclusively to 200 riders. Event entry fees range from R14,900 for a team or R8,900 for solo riders, and clients of Prudential Investment Managers receive a preferential rate.

The entry price includes three nights’ accommodation in tents with mattresses, all food and beverages, a great goodie bag valued at R3000.00 per person, and transport of gear from village to village. Ahead of the race, participants can also benefit from a bespoke, 12-week professional training programme developed by expert cycling coach Dr Mike Posthumus from the Sports Science Institute of South Africa. The cut off for the goodie bag closes on the 15th of December.
